Additional Judo Training is a training method, what is based on the knowledge and exercises of judo, adapted these to the needs of the given sport, to teach the players how to win every  contact and duel situations in the given sport. For doing so, the trainings contain mental, conditional, coordinational and technical development in favour of the full preparation for the duels, contacts and prevention situations in the given sport.

The professional building of the program starten in 2011, by Dániel Hadfi and Tamás Bere. The base of the program is the general positive effect of the movement system of judo – this positive effect is proven by hungarian and international examples. In the contact team sports, like soccer, handball or ice-hockey the teams use judo-like preparation, but until now, this additional trainings did not make up a whole system.

The first step of our job was to work out the methodical elements of AJT and prove its effectiveness. We looked up the abilities known as the characteristics of a judoka, then we disclosed the positive effects of them for team sports. Through our job we detected a defekt in the training of team sport players, what has big significance in the fast and hard play of today.

We builded up our program successfully through a strategic plan, in which we focused on the AJT contact method, and not on judo to highlight the fact that AJT is not judo but a training method to teach and train the players from different team sports to their duels. We managed to build up the program through the infrastructure of judo, and for both sides – judo and team sports – this connection is beneficial.

The base of AJT is the well-builded, graduated physical movements, moves and exercises. The aim and reason for these must be well-known by the trainees (why do we do them, what are our goals), so we need to teach these through our mental development. These two basic elements are connected in a system, in the AJT training method.

In almost all team sports there are a high number of duels. We can say that the success of the team depends on the success of the duels. Our main focus is on making the first contact in duels, because to do so, one must have self-confidence and be assertive. The result of this is pressure on the opponent player, so our trainee will be the dominant player in the situation, and will win the duel.

We builded in more additional elements to the basic and focused physical and mental exercises, the result is AJT, a solid, clear and portable method.

  1. We give an analysing and mentoring system for the coaches, AJT coaches and the players, so they can take a look inside our job and their development in our program.
  2. We expanded the physical exercises with mental developing elements – we say it a lot of times, that the physical development is way more if there is mental help too.
  3. For the countability of the success of the system we created an indicator system, what measures the positive impact of the program. We make our analysis live, on the match of the team, and we use the collected data to confer it with our database and in the optimalisation of the program, generally and for the given team too.

AJT is a well-known additional training system by the coaches working in handball, ice-hockey or soccer. We won the acknowledgement through our professional method and the portability of the system. Today we can manage our trainings in all over Hungary thanks to the AJT coach training system.

Soccer

Duels are general parts of the game in soccer.
These duels happen a lot of times while running next to each other for the ball. By this element of the game the moves of the hand in getting to the better position, the grips and the keeping our balance against huge forces are playing important roles, and so does prevention too, during the dangerous clashes and duels.

Of course we must talk about the duels for positions,
what are occuring not while running, but while standing and jumping. For getting the ball in today’s soccer one must win a duel in short time, and this can be crucial in the endgame. We can clearly see that this part of the game is a kind of close-combat, and although it only longs for seconds, it have a crucial role in the result of the match, the physical phase and the mental state.

It’s important, that in soccer the fast elements of the game are general,
and in duels the effect of the maximal strenght is dominant – so soccer has huge energy need. We can see that it is important, that if there are unnecessary energy loss there will be less energy for the play itself, and this can be critical by a lost duel in tied game. So we can say, that it is important that the players must not only win their duels, but win them with only the necessary energy loss.

Prevention
because of the high number of duels – is crucial in soccer too. Players need to have the needed core strenght and react with a good reflex action to the suddenly incoming forces. We must talk by prevention about the forces against the player during air-time, because it is a dangerous part of the game. It happens, that players get pushed out from their balance while jumping, and because of the small opportunities to correct the situation these incidents ends with smaller or bigger hurts – players need to get through these situations without injury, and to do so players need well-builded preventional muscularity and the knowledge of the falling technics.
